A ‘Thank-You’ to Our Nursing Staff During National Nursing Team Week

National Nursing Team Week (May 6-12) provides us with a special opportunity to recognize the more than 1,200 nurses who care for our patients. The knowledge, skills and compassion they bring to our patients is illustrated by Memorial Medical Center’s designation (awarded in 2006) as a Magnet hospital.

Magnet status is the gold standard for nursing excellence. Only 6 percent of the nation’s 5,000 hospitals have achieved Magnet designation. Simply stated, Magnet means our nurses are among the best in the nation.

What sets our nurses apart? They are passionate about their practice. They’re unwavering in their commitment to making a difference every day in the lives of the patients and families who come to us for care. They partner with patients and their families to provide patient-centered care based on the unique physical, spiritual and emotional needs of each patient.

For all members of our nursing team, providing excellent patient care is not a job. It’s a calling. For their dedication to that calling, we are grateful. And we are proud. They are, indeed, top notch.

Please join us in thanking our nurses during National Nursing Team Week with your comments about how Memorial nurses may have served you or a family member during a recent time of need. Let us hear from you!
